*Gender identity is not the same as gender expression. Gender identity refers to the personal sense of someone’s own gender. Gender expression refers to the way someone presents their gender with mannerisms or appearance that are typically associated with gender (e.g. clothes, makeup, way of talking). Sometimes gender identity and gender expression line up. Other times, if someone is gender non-conforming, they may express their gender in a different way then what is typically associated with it. There are more combinations possible than are given. Please choose one (or more) that are most leaning towards what feels accurate.
